Fair Cape Dairies & Project Flamingo join forces.

Cape Town, South Africa – Fair Cape Dairies has joined the breast cancer support journey by adopting Project Flamingo as their charity partner for October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Fair Cape Dairies has once again joined the efforts to raise awareness and funds for this important cause. Throughout October, the iconic 2L milk bottles will be sporting a vibrant pink, serving as a reminder of the campaign and a platform for educational awareness.

“We are thrilled to partner with Project Flamingo for Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” said Daniel Serman, Trustee of the Fair Cape Cares Foundation. “Their commitment to providing support and resources to breast cancer patients and survivors aligns perfectly with our values. We believe that together, we can make a significant impact.”

Dr. Liana Roodt, Founder of Project Flamingo, expressed her gratitude for Fair Cape Dairies' support. "We are excited to be able to partner with Fair Cape for October. Like them, we believe in doing the right thing. The funds raised through this campaign will enable us to continue providing life-saving catch-up surgeries, patient support services, and essential healthcare system strengthening in the Western & Eastern Cape. We fundamentally believe that evidence-based, dignified cancer care is a human right.”

For 14 years Project Flamingo has worked to ensure that every breast cancer patient has access to timely treatment, holistic care & heartfelt support, no matter their circumstances. They have helped thousands of people to access better care where it's most needed: SA's Public Healthcare System. Their well-established surgery program sees doctors and anaesthetists volunteering their time and expertise on Saturdays, providing catch-up surgeries to breast cancer patients at five key state hospitals. Beyond their surgical interventions, Project Flamingo provides emotional support in the form of pamper packs, food parcels, and counseling. They play an integral part at their partner hospitals, often stepping in to provide essential equipment, booking systems, and boosting much-needed vulnerable breaking points to step up the quality of care.

For every pink milk bottle sold during the month, Fair Cape Dairies will donate a portion of the proceeds to Project Flamingo. This initiative aims to raise both awareness and funds to support the organization's vital work in making sure vulnerable patients in the Public Health sector receive the cancer care and emotional support they deserve.
