WE BELIEVE TIMELY CANCER CARE IS A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT.
At Project Flamingo, we want to ensure that every breast cancer patient has access to timely treatment, holistic care & heartfelt support, no matter their circumstances. We have helped thousands of people to access better care where it's most needed: SA's Public Healthcare System.

will be affected by breast cancer in their lifetime*. Unfortunately, for patients in the South African Public Health Sector, long waiting periods for adequate treatment significantly impact their lives. After receiving a diagnosis, patients could wait over 12 weeks for life-saving treatment. This affects their families, their communities, their livelihoods, their emotional well-being and mental health, and their overall survival rate.
HOW DO WE CREATE A TANGIBLE IMPACT?
We work tirelessly to reduce these waiting periods and give patients the holistic, timely, evidence-based care they deserve. We do this by providing catch-up surgeries at 5 Public Hospitals in the Western & Eastern Cape, where our teams of volunteer surgeons & anaesthetists offer their time and expertise to help ease the patient load. In addition to surgical interventions, we provide pamper packs, food parcels & emotional support, to look after the holistic needs of our patients.
